About 40 years ago, my Grandfather and Grandmother, Ann and George Snyder, purchased, at auction, several pieces of 19th (1878) century broom making equipment. They taught themselves the art of Shaker-style broom making and recently passed on this lost art to me. Many people remember seeing my grandparents at art shows throughout Central New York. I love hearing countless stories from people that purchased brooms from my grandparents. Many of which are still using the very first Snyder broom they ever purchased! In addition to being beautiful and functional every broom is handmade, handstitched and we even dye our own broom corn. Nothing is manufactured. Every broom is one of a kind.
